A middle-aged man named Ibrahim has been remanded by an Ekiti State Magistrate Court for allegedly killing his daughter’s boyfriend.

The suspect reportedly beat the young man to death because he disapproved of their relationship.

The victim had visited the girl at her father’s home near the popular Corpers’ Lodge on New Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti. According to reports, the father was unhappy with their courtship and called on his siblings to attack the young man.

The assault left the boyfriend with severe injuries, and he later died from excessive bleeding.

State Police spokesperson Sunday Abutu told journalists that the father and two other suspects have been arraigned in court and are now in prison.
