Police and vigilante arrest five suspected kidnappers, rescue two abducted women in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command, working with local security groups, has successfully arrested five people suspected of kidnapping and rescued two women in Idofin Igbana, located in Oke-Ero Local Government Area.

The incident happened on August 30 around 7:45 p.m. when three women – Ahmed Aminat, Mohammed Habibat, and Isah Aminat – were taken from the Oke-Ile area of Idofin Igbana.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama explained that after receiving the report, police teamed up with the Local Government Security Initiative to search nearby bushes for the victims.

According to sources, two of the women were rescued at Ago Alu Fulani camp along Idofin/Olla road after the kidnappers abandoned them upon seeing the security team. Unfortunately, one of the victims, Ahmed Aminat, was taken away by the kidnappers.

The suspects arrested at Ago Alu Fulani camp include Abubakar Seriki Juli, Mohammadu Bello, Abubakar Sodiq, 20, Abubakar Bako, and another Mohammadu Bello, all residents of Idofin Aiyekale.

One of the rescued women identified two of the arrested suspects as those responsible for their kidnapping.

Authorities are still working to locate the remaining victim and capture any other members of the gang who may have escaped.
