Crystal Palace sign Nigeria forward Christantus Uche from Gatefe

Crystal Palace have finalized the transfer of Nigerian striker Christantus Uche from Spanish club Getafe.

The 22-year-old attacker has joined the South London club on a one-year loan, which includes a mandatory purchase reportedly worth £20 million.

Uche, who will wear the number 12 jersey, is expected to take on the role left vacant by attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze, who recently joined Arsenal.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Uche expressed his excitement, saying, “This is an incredible moment for me. I feel very lucky to be here, and this club offers a huge opportunity.”

Uche first came to Europe in 2022, joining Spanish fifth division side Moralo CP. His skill and potential soon earned him a move to AD Ceuta FC in the third tier.

Ahead of the 2024/25 season, Uche signed for Getafe, where he made 38 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and assisting seven times.

Before joining Palace, Uche will take part in Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
