Super Eagles open camp in Uyo with Rwanda set to jet in for crucial World Cup qualifier

The Super Eagles have officially opened camp today, September 1, in Uyo as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and South Africa.

The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that Rwanda will arrive in the country on Tuesday. While a delegate is expected in Lagos on Monday as an advance party, the full squad will land at 1:15 pm on Tuesday aboard Rwanda Airlines and then travel to Uyo by 4 pm.

Nigeria will host Rwanda on Saturday in a must-win game before heading out to face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana just three days later. Both matches are very crucial for the team’s qualification hopes.

Currently, the Super Eagles are fourth in Group C with seven points after six games. South Africa leads the group with 13 points, Lesotho follows with six points, and Zimbabwe sits on four points.
