Former Liverpool star, Luis Suarez caught on camera spitting on rival coach after Inter Miami cup final loss

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was seen spitting at a staff member of the opposing team following Inter Miami’s 3-0 defeat to the Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup final on Sunday.

Video footage captured Suarez confronting a member of the Sounders staff near the center of the pitch as tensions escalated right after the match ended.

The 38-year-old got close to the coach and appeared to spit at him while Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari stepped in to calm the situation.

Earlier in the match, players from both teams were involved in scuffles, grabbing each other and throwing punches as tempers boiled over after the final whistle.

Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano said he was too far to clearly see what happened.

“Nobody likes seeing incidents like this at the end of a match, but maybe there was provocation,” Mascherano commented.

Seattle Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer said the brawl distracted from his team’s strong performance.

“It seems Miami’s frustration caused some actions that shouldn’t happen on the field,” Schmetzer added.

He also mentioned a private moment with Lionel Messi after the match, saying he preferred to focus on the positive rather than the conflict.

Suarez has a history of controversial behavior on the field.

In 2011, he was banned for eight matches and fined for making racist comments toward Manchester United’s Patrice Evra and later refused to shake Evra’s hand in a Premier League match.

During the 2014 World Cup, Suarez was suspended for four months after biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, marking the third biting incident of his career.

He had previously bitten Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic while playing for Liverpool and Otman Bakkal at Ajax.

This recent incident is likely to result in a significant suspension from Major League Soccer.
