Former Nigerian football legend, Samson Siasia, has shared his belief that the Super Eagles still have a chance to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite their poor run in the qualifiers.
The Nigerian team has struggled so far, managing to win only one out of six games in the campaign. At the moment, they are in fourth place in Group C, six points behind leaders South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
Even though the journey looks tough, Siasia is hopeful that the Eagles can turn things around. With four matches left, he stressed that the opportunity is still there if the team approaches the games with the right mindset.
“Everything is still possible; the real question is how to achieve it,” Siasia said. “The players and the coach must bring their best into every game, focusing on one match at a time.”
Nigeria will resume their qualifying journey next week, starting with a home game against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. After that, they will travel to Bloemfontein to face South Africa on Tuesday, September 9.
