Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has returned to training after suffering an injury during Tuesday’s league game against Richards Bay.
The Nigerian star was carried off in the 35th minute of the match, causing concern about his availability for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
On Friday night, the 29-year-old joined a light training session with his club, showing signs that he is recovering well.
Nwabali is now expected to feature when Chippa United face Orlando Pirates in the South Africa Premier League at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.
He was also included in Nigeria’s final 23-man squad for the crucial qualifiers against Rwanda’s Amavubi and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
After playing for his club, Nwabali will head to Uyo to join his Super Eagles teammates in camp.
