Popular Nigerian actor, Stan Nze, has said that risking one’s life just to act in a movie is nothing but foolishness.
The Nollywood star shared his thoughts while discussing how actors interpret their roles in movies. In an interview with The Nation, he explained that it makes no sense to put his life in danger just to prove he is a great actor when stunt performers exist for that purpose.
According to him, it would be unwise to jump from a dangerous height or attempt other risky actions when stunt professionals are already trained and paid to handle such scenes.
Nze pointed out that stunt actors know how to perform dangerous moves safely, which is why they are valued in the film industry.
The actor made it clear that he would never risk his life simply to earn recognition as “the best actor in Africa.” He noted that it would be foolish to die on set, only for people to observe a minute of silence and quickly move on with their lives.
Nze emphasized that he will only perform safe scenes and allow stuntmen to do the risky ones, insisting that everyone should stick to their professional roles in the industry.
