Maverick entertainer Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has reacted strongly to the recent claims made by activist Deji Adeyanju about former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Charly Boy dismissed the allegations, saying Adeyanju is the kind of person who can easily sell himself for “30 pieces of silver.” He stressed that the activist was only trying to make himself relevant while pleasing his political sponsors.
Adeyanju had earlier alleged that Obi tried to bribe him during the 2023 election period. According to him, Obi invited him for a discussion and later gave him a brown envelope filled with money, which he claimed he rejected.
Responding to this, Charly Boy rejected the story and vowed never to allow Adeyanju drag Obi into the gutter. He warned him to stop chasing clout with baseless accusations.
In a post shared on X, Charly Boy, writing in Pidgin English, accused Adeyanju of spreading lies and behaving recklessly. He said instead of standing for truth, the activist had turned himself into an errand boy for dirty politics.
Charly Boy described Obi as a man who still gives Nigerians hope for a better tomorrow. He stressed that while Obi inspires millions, Adeyanju is running around for crumbs and trying to cause confusion.
Mocking the bribery story, Charly Boy told Adeyanju to stop spreading falsehood, saying if anyone is known for selling himself for money, it is Adeyanju.
He ended with a strong warning that Adeyanju’s irresponsible behavior could get him into legal trouble, insisting that Peter Obi should not be dragged into unnecessary controversies.
