Police in Kaduna State have arrested three teenagers accused of kidnapping three young siblings, all under the age of 14, from their home on Calabar Road in Sabon Layi, Kaduna North, on August 26.

According to police spokesperson DSP Mansir Hassan, the case was reported by the children’s father who said his three kids – Aslam Umar Lukman (14), Suleiman Umar Tanko (12), and Aliyu Umar Tanko (10) – were kidnapped on August 25 around 1:45 pm. The abductors contacted him and demanded a ransom of fifty million naira (N50,000,000).

The police quickly began investigations and, through intelligence gathering, were able to lure out the main suspect, Richard Philip, believed to be the mastermind.

.Upon arrest, he confessed that he carried out the crime with two others, Ibrahim Ma’aruf (18) and Abubakar Sadiq (15), and that the victims were kept in his residence.
