Senator Abba Moro, who represents Benue South, has said that Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, could get the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket if he decides to return to the party.
Moro, the Senate Minority Leader, shared this during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday.
Speaking on Obi’s possible return, Moro explained that politics is full of surprises. He noted that politics is not always straightforward and often depends on the interests of different groups and regions.
He also mentioned that while the PDP as a party has not officially reached out to Obi, some members have already started talking to him. Moro added that Obi has a real chance of winning the ticket if he makes a comeback.
According to him, the discussions are based on the belief that Obi could become the most popular and supported aspirant if he rejoins the PDP. Moro stressed that such a move would increase the party’s chances of making a strong impact in the 2027 general elections.
