Mutfwang gets special invitation to join Tinubu on state visit to Brazil

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his official state visit to Brazil after receiving a special invitation from the president.

Unlike the recent trip to Japan where he was not part of the official delegation, Mutfwang was among the top government officials who welcomed the president in Brazil following the special invitation.

According to a statement by his Press and Public Affairs Director, Gyang Bere, the governor will participate in bilateral discussions and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding designed to strengthen Nigeria’s relationship with Brazil and improve the country’s economy.

During the visit, the Nigerian delegation is expected to hold meetings with the President of the Brazilian Senate, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, and the President of the Supreme Federal Court.

They will also attend the Nigeria-Brazil Business Forum in Brasília as part of the programme.

Aside from the national engagements, Governor Mutfwang will use the visit to open talks with the Brazilian government and business communities on investment opportunities that could benefit Plateau State in the future.

This development is timely, as Plateau State was recently named one of six states in Nigeria chosen to host the regional hub of the $1.1 billion Green Imperative Project under the Nigeria-Brazil partnership, which is expected to boost agro-industrialisation across the country.
