A young Nigerian graduate, Salawu Deborah Oluwatoyosi, has spoken out about what she described as harassment from her mother and a pastor.
According to Deborah, her mother and the pastor went to the place she was staying, forced her to return home, and insisted she undergo deliverance prayers. They accused her of being possessed and under demonic influence.
She also claimed that the two got rid of her cat, which she said was unfairly linked to the accusations. They allegedly insisted she had a demonic connection with the animal.
In her words, “My cat and I were harassed. My cat was thrown away. My mum, a pastor, and a nurse dragged me home for deliverance prayers, saying I was spiritually tied to my cat in a demonic way.”
Deborah added that she was left outside as they disposed of her pet. “They stalled me outside and threw my cat away. I will never forget it,” she said.
She revealed that she is now back at her parents’ house, where she was made to go through yet another round of deliverance prayers.
Expressing her frustration, she wrote, “I can’t believe this. I spent six years in school only for them to conclude I’m possessed and controlled by demons. I can’t look at them the same way anymore. And now, my cat is gone too.”
