Manchester United’s summer signing, Matheus Cunha, has shared what Brazilian football icons Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Nazario told him before he made the move to Old Trafford.
Cunha joined Erik ten Hag’s team earlier in the transfer window after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Brazilian striker explained that both Ronaldinho and Ronaldo were very supportive of his decision, calling United one of the biggest clubs in the world. He said their encouragement made him more confident about the transfer.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Cunha revealed Ronaldinho’s reaction. According to him, Ronaldinho said: “Wow, Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world. You deserve this chance. It’s an unbelievable club.”
Cunha also recalled what Ronaldo told him, noting that the legendary striker praised the special atmosphere at Old Trafford and the passion of the fans. He admitted that their words made him feel his move to United was the perfect moment in his career.
The forward has already featured in United’s first two league games this season against Arsenal and Fulham, as he begins life with the Red Devils.
