EPL: Iwobi makes history in Fulham’s draw with Manchester United

Alex Iwobi has written his name into Premier League history after providing an assist in Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The Nigerian midfielder set up substitute Emile Smith Rowe to score Fulham’s equalising goal.

That contribution means Iwobi now has 67 goal involvements in the Premier League, which includes 31 goals and 36 assists.

At 29, he becomes only the third Nigerian to hit this mark, joining Shola Ameobi and Kelechi Iheanacho on the list of record achievers.

When it comes to Nigerian players with the highest goal contributions in the Premier League, only Yakubu Aiyegbeni with 121 and Nwankwo Kanu with 83 are ahead of Iwobi and the others.

Aside from the assist, Iwobi impressed with his overall display for Fulham against Manchester United.

The former Arsenal Academy player featured for the full 90 minutes in the thrilling encounter.
