British Airways flight attendant found ‘high on drugs and n@ked in plane toilet’

A British Airways crew member shocked passengers and colleagues after being found n@ked and high on drugs during a flight.

The attendant, 41-year-old Haden Pentecost from Basingstoke, became restless and was sweating heavily on a trip from California to London. He also failed to take part in the normal safety checks before departure.

The issue started when Pentecost complained of stomach cramps. He told colleagues he wanted to change clothes and went into the restroom, locking the door.

When he finally came out, crew members were stunned to see him without clothes. A female colleague quickly helped him get dressed and moved him to a free seat.

On Friday, August 22, Pentecost appeared before Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court. He admitted being under the influence of drugs while working on the flight. The captain spoke to him during the journey, and a health professional was later called in.

During the flight, his condition worried the crew as he had a high heartbeat and wide pupils. Staff checked on him every 20 minutes until the plane landed at Heathrow, where paramedics rushed him to the hospital. Tests later showed methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system.

British Airways later confirmed that Pentecost had been sacked. The court heard that he currently lives with his husband. He was granted bail and will be sentenced later at Isleworth Crown Court.

The shocking case comes after another British Airways controversy. A pilot was suspended for leaving the cockpit door open on a flight from Heathrow to New York. Reports said he wanted his family, who were passengers, to see him flying the aircraft.

Passengers and crew noticed the door was left wide open for some time, which made many of them uneasy. The pilot’s actions were reported in the US, leading to his suspension.

The Civil Aviation Authority launched an urgent investigation into the security breach. Because of the suspension, a London-bound flight that was due to land on August 8 was cancelled.
