The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed viral reports claiming that Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, was declared wanted.

In a statement released on its official X account, the police described the so-called wanted notice as fake, misleading, and not from the Force.

The poster, which carried the actress’s photo with the title “SPECIAL POLICE WANTED,” spread widely across social media between Tuesday and Wednesday, causing mixed reactions among Nigerians.

This morning, the police urged the public to disregard the false notice and not to give it any attention.

They further clarified that the so-called Wanted Person Bulletin, which claimed the IGP Monitoring Unit had declared Iyabo Ojo wanted, did not come from them and should not be taken as an official communication.

The police also advised Nigerians to always verify information through official platforms and be careful not to fall for fake news.
