Oriyomi Hamzat apologizes to Naira Marley, lifts ban on the singer’s songs on Agidigbo FM

Oriyomi Hamzat, the founder of Agidigbo 88.7 FM in Ibadan, has publicly apologized to singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.

Along with the apology, he announced the removal of the ban on Marley’s songs at the station, which had been in place following the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also called Mohbad.

The ban was originally imposed in 2024 due to accusations linking Naira Marley to Mohbad’s death. On Tuesday, August 19, Hamzat expressed regret for his past statements on air and confirmed that Marley’s tracks would now return to Agidigbo FM’s playlist.

He said, “I sincerely apologize for any harsh or provocative words directed at Naira Marley. From today, the ban on his songs at Agidigbo FM is lifted. We will continue playing his music.”

To show his commitment, Hamzat immediately played one of Marley’s hit songs, “Tesumole,” on the station.
