Liverpool star Mohamed Salah Wins 2025 PFA Player of the Year Award to Reach Historic Milestone

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has made history by winning his third PFA Men’s Player of the Year award, setting a record in English football.

Salah had an incredible season, scoring 29 goals and delivering 18 assists as Liverpool, under Arne Slot, claimed the Premier League title last year.

The 33-year-old Egyptian star’s brilliant performances in the 2024/25 season earned him a clear win in the PFA voting, making him the first player to win this award three times.

This latest recognition adds to Salah’s other achievements, including matching the record for most Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year awards, which he also won for the third time earlier this year.

Reflecting on his childhood in Egypt, Salah said he always dreamed of being a footballer and supporting his family but didn’t think much about awards at the time. He added that as he grew older, his ambitions expanded, and he began aiming for bigger achievements.

During the 2024/25 season, Salah was the Premier League’s top scorer with 29 goals and also contributed 18 assists, showing his all-around impact on the field.

Salah was joined in the 2024/25 PFA Premier League Team of the Year by Liverpool teammates Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis Mac Allister.

New Liverpool signing Milos Kerkez, who joined from Bournemouth in the summer, was also included in the team, alongside Arsenal’s William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Declan Rice.

Some notable players, such as Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, did not make the Team of the Year despite being shortlisted for the Player of the Year award.
