Six schoolgirls between 12 and 13 arrested after injuring a 13-year-old in ‘deeply troubling attack’

Six schoolgirls aged between 12 and 13 have been arrested in Hove, United Kingdom, after a 13-year-old girl was injured in what police called a “deeply troubling attack.”

The incident happened at Wish Park shortly before 6pm on Friday, August 15. The young victim was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

At first, police arrested three girls — one aged 12 and two aged 13 from Brighton. Later, another 12-year-old and two more 13-year-old girls were also arrested in connection with the assault.

Chief Inspector Simon Marchant from the Brighton Neighbourhood Policing Team said the case has caused serious concern in the community. He confirmed that all the young suspects have now been arrested, and investigations are still ongoing.

Police also warned against sharing or commenting on videos of the attack that are said to be circulating online. They explained that this could affect future court proceedings.

Officers assured the public that the case is being fully investigated and encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
