A senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Biodun Ajiboye, has said that Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, cannot do better than President Bola Tinubu if given the chance to govern.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Ajiboye dismissed Obi’s chances of ever surpassing Tinubu. He declared that even if there were “a million Obis,” none would be able to perform better than the current president.

Ajiboye argued that Obi’s record as governor of Anambra State did not show the qualities of a leader who could turn Nigeria around.

He asked what miracle Obi performed in Anambra that could prove his capacity to govern at a higher level.

He went further to question Obi’s background, saying that being chairman of a bank before becoming governor was not enough to show that he had the skills to handle the leadership of a complex nation like Nigeria.

Defending Tinubu, Ajiboye said the president has already taken difficult but necessary decisions to rescue the Nigerian economy from collapse. He stressed that the measures may be tough, but they are needed to secure the country’s future.
