Armed men suspected to be bandits have shot dead two members of the Mobile Police Force, MOPOL, during an ambush in Tsafe town, Zamfara State.

The attack happened late on Sunday night when the gunmen invaded the outskirts of Tsafe, along the Yankuzo road, opening fire on security personnel in the area.

According to security sources, the two police officers who were stationed in the location could not survive the heavy gunfire and died instantly.

After carrying out the deadly operation, the attackers quickly escaped into the nearby forest. Security operatives were later deployed to the scene to restore calm and prevent further attacks.
