Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, the D’Tigers, have secured a place in the quarterfinals of AfroBasket 2025 after a thrilling 99–90 victory over Cameroon in Luanda, Angola.
The match, played on Sunday, August 17, saw the Nigerian side end their group stage campaign on a high note.
The win means Nigeria finished the group stage unbeaten with a perfect 3-0 record.
Their journey began with a dominant 77-59 win over Madagascar, followed by an impressive 87-66 triumph over defending champions Tunisia, before capping it off with the hard-fought win against Cameroon.
With their top finish, the D’Tigers will enjoy two days of rest while other teams fight through the play-offs for quarterfinal slots. They will return to action on Wednesday when the knockout stage begins, aiming to continue their strong run in the tournament.
