The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has approved the redeployment and appointment of senior officers across different command, training, and staff positions in the Nigerian Army.
A statement from the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, explained that the reshuffle is part of a strategy to strengthen leadership and make the Army more effective in ongoing operations.
At the Army Headquarters, some top officers received new roles. Major General AA Adeyinka was moved from the Corps of Supply and Transport to become Chief of Logistics.
Major General AA Adekeye shifted from the Department of Standard and Evaluation to the Department of Personnel Management as Chief of Personnel Management.
Major General TB Ugiagbe was appointed Chief of Standard and Evaluation after leaving the Intelligence Corps.
Other senior positions filled include Major General AA Idris as Chief of Military Intelligence, Major General MO Erebulu as Provost Marshall,
Major General EA Anaryu as Corps Commander Supply and Transport, Major General SA Akesode as Head of the African Union Verification Mission in Tigray, and Major General JE Osifo as Director General of the Nigerian Army Finance Corporation.
The changes also brought in new General Officers Commanding. Major General ASM Wase now leads the 1 Division/Joint Task Force Northwest, while Major General CR Nnebeife takes over 2 Division/Sector 3 Joint Task Force. Some commandants of training schools and brigade commanders were also affected.
The Chief of Army Staff urged the newly appointed officers to give their best and remain committed. He stressed that their dedication is key to maintaining the fight against terrorism, insurgency, and other threats to Nigeria’s security.
