Nigerian actor Jim Iyke recently sparked debate with a bold statement about parenting.

He said that a single mother alone cannot properly raise a boy to become a responsible man.

According to Iyke, women need the help of a male figure, such as a father, brother, or a trusted man, to guide a boy in growing up well.

He explained this during an interview with Okay 101.7 FM in Accra, Ghana, emphasizing the importance of male involvement in a boy’s upbringing.

“A woman naturally nurtures and loves. But raising a boy alone might result in a weak man who ends up like the men who abandoned you. You need a man to discipline him, teach him limits, and prepare him for life,” Iyke said.

He stressed that male guidance teaches boys discipline and hard work, helping them grow into strong and responsible men.
