I Better Not Get Any Mami Water Allegation – Ayra Starr Expresses Worry Over Her New Trend

Ayra Starr, the Nigerian singer, has expressed worry that her new social media trend for the song Hot Body might bring unnecessary rumors about her.

The singer said she hopes no one accuses her of being linked to spiritual or demonic things because of how unusual the trend looks. She wrote on her X account, “I better not get any mami water allegation because of this hot body video.”

Hot Body is Ayra Starr’s first release since joining Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. To promote the song, she and her team introduced a trend where young women dance and confidently show off their “hot bodies” while the track plays in the background.

The trend has attracted criticism from some Nigerians who believe it encourages nudity. Singer Jaywon also questioned Ayra Starr’s fashion choices, asking if she doesn’t have parents to guide her.

This is not the first time a Mavin Records star has faced such accusations. In 2023, Rema was accused of promoting satanic and Illuminati symbols during his concert at London’s O2 Arena.

Rema later explained that the horse he rode on stage was a design inspired by a Benin artifact, while the mask he wore was a replica of the Queen Idia mask.

In a March 2025 interview with Rolling Stone, Rema also dismissed claims of being in the Illuminati, worshipping the devil, or drinking blood. He said his stage designs were cultural, not evil.
