Edo by-election: PDP agents absent in several polling units

During Saturday’s by-election in Ovia North East Local Government, Edo State, polling agents from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were reportedly missing in several polling stations.

At places like Oluku Primary School, Owina Primary School, and Eronseyi Primary School, only representatives from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) were seen monitoring the election.

Responding to these claims, the PDP State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Tony Azeigbemi, said the party did have agents at the polling units.

He added that the absence of agents in some units would not affect the party’s overall results. Azeigbemi referenced the 2023 elections, saying, “Even when Peter Obi didn’t have agents in many polling units, he still won those areas.”
