Stephen Manyo is expected to miss the home-based Super Eagles’ game against Congo at the 2024 African Nations Championship due to an injury, INFOLAND reports.
The Rivers United defender picked up a shoulder injury during training, confirmed by the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe.
Manyo made his CHAN 2024 debut in Nigeria’s match against Sudan on Tuesday, coming on for Leonard Ngenege after halftime.
First-choice goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena is also set to miss the game as he continues to recover from the knee injury that kept him out of Nigeria’s previous matches.
Éric Chelle’s side will face Congo at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam next Tuesday. The Super Eagles have already been eliminated from the tournament after losing their opening two games against Senegal and Sudan.
