Armed Men Open Fire, Leave One Dead, Another Wounded In Plateau

Gunmen attacked residents in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, shooting two people and leaving one dead while the other is fighting for his life.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the news on X on Friday, the attack happened on Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m. along the Margif–Kopmur Road.

The victims were identified as Michael Lontukun from Njin Kopmur village in Mushere West and Stephen David from Kopmur village in Margif Ward.

Eyewitnesses explained that the attackers suddenly opened fire without warning. Sadly, Lontukun died on the spot, while David sustained severe gunshot wounds.

Troops of the Nigerian Army and the Sector 5 Commander of the Special Task Force (STF) quickly moved to the scene after the incident to restore calm.

The injured man was rushed to the General Hospital in Horop for treatment, while the family of the deceased claimed his body for burial after refusing an autopsy.
