Residents of Oshodi, Lagos, witnessed a heartwarming scene on Wednesday when a young woman gave birth right by the roadside.

Eyewitnesses said she was travelling from Ajah to another location when labour started unexpectedly.

Several women nearby quickly stepped in to help, assisting her through the delivery.

One of the people present described the incident as “a true act of God,” praising how the women acted fast to ensure the mother and her newborn were safe.

At first, efforts to contact her husband by phone did not go through, but friends at the scene helped organise support until he arrived shortly after the baby was born.

The joyful atmosphere drew the attention of passersby, who stopped to celebrate the new mother. Market women in the area called the birth a blessing and a sign of God’s favour on their community.
