Suspected Fulani herders have once again attacked parts of Benue State, killing two residents in a sudden and violent assault.
On Tuesday night, reports from INFOLAND revealed that the armed men stormed Uikpam and Mbabai communities in Guma Local Government Area and began shooting at innocent villagers.
By Wednesday morning, it was confirmed that two people — identified as Francis Nomsoor and a man simply known as Kelvin — had lost their lives in the incident.
Kelvin, who worked as a patent medicine dealer, was shot inside his shop. He was rushed towards Daudu for medical treatment but sadly passed away on the way.
Meanwhile, the body of Francis Nomsoor was discovered by security forces after the attackers had fled the area.
Sources say security officers had been stationed in the region due to earlier attacks, but they were withdrawn before this latest incident happened.
