Afrobeats star Davido recently spoke about how the heartbreaking loss of his 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, in 2022 completely transformed his outlook on life.

Ifeanyi sadly drowned in a swimming pool at Davido’s Banana Island home in Lagos in October 2022, an event that deeply affected fans worldwide.

In an interview with ABC News’ Rocsi Diaz, Davido explained that the tragedy made him see life differently and gave him a new focus in his music career.

He mentioned that taking a break from the public eye allowed him to reflect and plan his next steps carefully.

“Taking time off after losing my son and looking back at my journey helped me refocus on my life and career. It truly changed me,” he shared.

Davido also revealed how he and his wife, Chioma, found the courage to move forward, inspiring many people along the way.

“I meet so many people who tell me at the airport that my strength gives them hope during tough times. I told my wife recently that I’m proud of how we came back.

Now, we have twins, who are full of energy and joy. Being able to survive the loss of our son and rebuild our lives has been a huge achievement,” he added.
