U.S Soldier Searches For Her Nigerian Father

A woman serving in the U.S. Army is asking for help to find her father.

Her name is Zainab James. She says her father is Nigerian and his name might be Lateef Quadri.

Zainab was born in 1994 in Brooklyn, New York. Her mother is Jamaican. Her father was not there when she was born but he picked her name.

Zainab shared that her mother used to work in a jewelry shop. While working there, her mother became friends with the sister of Zainab’s father.

On August 10, 2025, Zainab posted photos of her mother with some men from the jewelry store on Facebook. She hopes someone can recognize her father from the pictures.

In her post, she wrote that her mother’s name was Claudine James. She was born on December 9, 1969, in Montego Bay, Jamaica, but she has passed away. Zainab explained that her mother became pregnant in 1993 while living in Brooklyn, and she was born the next year.

Zainab wants to find her father or any of his relatives. She only knows he was Nigerian and possibly named Lateef Quadri. They did not have a lasting relationship, and no one in her family has met him.
