Troops kill two terrorists in Zamfara, Kebbi operations

The Nigerian Army’s 1 Brigade Headquarters has announced that two terrorists were killed and weapons recovered during separate operations in Zamfara and Kebbi states. According to information obtained by counter-insurgency analyst Zagazola Makama, at around 10:13 a.m.

on Sunday, troops from 1 Brigade carried out a combat patrol to Tubali village in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State after receiving intelligence about a planned assault on the Forward Operating Base in Galadi.

The soldiers encountered the terrorists in Tubali, killed one of them, and seized an AK-47 rifle. No military personnel were harmed, and the patrol returned to base around 2:10 p.m.

In another mission the same day, at about 10:12 a.m., troops launched a combat patrol at Konangoro-Duko junction in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State. This operation was carried out in response to an earlier attack on a joint security post of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

The terrorists attempted to flee upon seeing the approaching troops but were pursued, resulting in the death of one and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle along with two magazines.
