A tragic tanker explosion has resulted in multiple deaths and injuries in Zaria, Kaduna State.

The accident took place on Monday morning around 8:30 a.m. near Rochas Foundation School, along the Kaduna–Kano expressway bypass, close to Kwangila and Dan Magaji.

According to eyewitnesses who shared the information with security analyst Zagazola Makama on his X account, the crash involved two fuel tankers and two passenger-filled Golf cars. The collision caused five loud explosions, followed by a large fire and thick smoke that spread across the highway.

One witness reported that everyone inside the cars died instantly, except for one driver who survived but suffered serious burns.

Emergency responders and security officials have blocked off the area and warned drivers to avoid this road while rescue and recovery operations are ongoing.
