Popular Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has voiced his opinion that Lagos is not the right environment for young musicians to build their careers.

The Abuja-born music star described Lagos as a city driven by selfishness. He warned that artists who rise to fame there may end up becoming greedy, self-centered, and overly competitive.

Odumodublvck believes his upbringing in Abuja gave him a strong advantage in the Nigerian music industry, setting him apart from many others.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, he wrote:

“The worst place for an upcoming artist to grow is Lagos. It’s the most selfish place to build your career. You will end up like them—greedy, selfish, and self-centered.”

He added that this mindset is the reason he was able to stand out and make an impact in the industry. According to him, his authenticity and realness gave him the power to succeed where others fell into the trap of selfishness.
