Transfer: Chelsea confirm deals for two players

Chelsea has confirmed the transfer of two of their young players, Lesley Ugochukwu and Marc Guiu, as part of their ongoing squad changes for the new season.

In an official statement shared on their website, the club announced that Lesley Ugochukwu has completed a permanent move to Premier League side Burnley. This marks a new step in the midfielder’s career as he looks to establish himself in England’s top flight.

Chelsea also revealed that Marc Guiu will be spending the upcoming season with Sunderland. The young striker has left Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan deal aimed at giving him more first-team experience.

Ugochukwu first joined Chelsea two years ago from French club Rennes. During his debut season, he featured in 15 matches for the London side, showing promise in midfield before being loaned out to Southampton for the 2024/25 campaign.

Now, with the move to Burnley, the Frenchman will have the opportunity to take on a more permanent role and continue his development with regular playing time.

Guiu, just 19 years old, arrived at Chelsea from Barcelona and quickly made an impression. Last season, he played 16 games for the Blues and scored six goals, contributing significantly to their successful run in the Conference League.

He also represented Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup under coach Enzo Maresca. Guiu was part of the squad that defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the final, helping Chelsea claim the world title.

This double transfer comes less than a week after the club confirmed other deals involving Mamadou Sarr and Leo Castledine, showing that Chelsea remain committed to reshaping their squad and offering young players chances to grow—either through loans or permanent moves.
