Yanin Campos, a well-known chef and former participant on MasterChef México, has sadly passed away after a car crash in her hometown of Chihuahua, Mexico. She was 38 years old at the time of her death.
Reports from local news outlet El Financiero state that the accident happened at around 6:30 a.m. on August 2. Campos was driving when her car hit a parked vehicle. Emergency responders quickly took her to Hospital del Parque, where she was treated for serious injuries.
Unfortunately, despite efforts by medical staff, Campos died two days later due to the injuries she suffered in the crash.
Her brother, Raúl Campo, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook. He wrote: “To our family and friends, we share the sad news of my sister Yanin Campos’ passing. The wake will be held at Hernández Funeral Home for those who wish to say their goodbyes.”
Authorities in Chihuahua are currently investigating the cause of the accident to understand what led to the collision.
Campos became a household name in 2018 when she appeared on Season 4 of MasterChef México, where she made it to the top six. Due to her popularity, she was invited back for MasterChef: La Revancha in 2019. She later gained more followers on social media, especially on TikTok and Instagram, where she regularly posted content for her fans.

After the news of her death broke, fans filled the comments of her last Instagram post—a photo from London in 2023—with heartfelt tributes. One person wrote, “So sorry for this loss. Gone too soon. My condolences to her family, friends, and fans. Rest in peace.” Another message read, “Yanin, we will miss you. Keep shining wherever you are.”
Her TikTok account, which has close to 100,000 followers, also became a place where fans expressed their grief and shared kind words to honor the late chef and television personality.
