France Football has officially announced the nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or. The prestigious football award shortlist was released on Thursday through the organizers’ social media pages.
The list of nominated players was selected by a panel of top football journalists from different parts of the world. After careful consideration, the chosen names were revealed to the public.
Famous players like Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain, Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid, Harry Kane of Bayern Munich, Achraf Hakimi of PSG, and Viktor Gyokeres of Arsenal all made the list.
Other big names on the shortlist include Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona), Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund), and Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan).
The 2025 award is expected to be closely contested, with many looking at Yamal, Dembele, and Mbappe as the favorites to win the top honor this year.
France Football has confirmed that the Ballon d’Or ceremony will be held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on September 22, 2025.
