Bandits attack farmers in Sokoto communities

Armed bandits launched fresh attacks on several villages in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Wednesday, targeting farmers in the area. The incident caused panic as residents abandoned their farms and fled for safety.

During the attack, a local hunter was shot and killed while trying to escape. The gunmen reportedly opened fire as people scattered in fear.

A security expert who goes by the name Bakatsine shared the incident on X (formerly known as Twitter) Thursday morning, raising alarm over the rising violence in the region.

He explained that the attack took place in the morning across several communities, including Gidan Buwai, Kundus, Rarah, and Dudu Barade Bulke. Loud gunshots were heard throughout the area, forcing many farmers to run away.

The hunter was killed in Rarah as he tried to flee from the attackers. Despite the violence, there were no reports of any kidnappings or stolen livestock.

Sokoto State has been dealing with ongoing security problems. Armed groups continue to launch attacks, making life difficult for many people living in the affected communities.
