‘Modern feminism is a crime’ – Jim Iyke

Nollywood star Jim Iyke has shared his honest opinion about today’s version of feminism. He believes it has moved far away from its original goal and is now doing more harm than good.

In a chat with The EchoRoom, he explained that feminism once stood for meaningful causes like fairness and gender equality. But now, in his view, it has become something that promotes rivalry between men and women, rather than cooperation.

He also claimed that the idea behind today’s feminism didn’t grow naturally. Instead, he believes it was cleverly created by a women’s magazine to sell more copies. According to him, this magazine aimed its message at women, encouraging them to challenge men and aim for the same roles, no matter what.

Jim Iyke said this message was taken to the extreme. What began as a campaign turned into a belief system where some women now think they don’t need men at all. He said this belief has grown into a lifestyle that many now live by.

He also criticized the movement for having double standards. In his view, modern feminism often says one thing and does another, which creates confusion instead of equality.

Wrapping up his thoughts, he said true balance between men and women can only happen when both sides understand their strengths and work together. For him, this cooperation is what feminism should support—not constant competition.
