Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman missed Atalanta’s training session on Monday, a move believed to be part of his push to leave the club. This comes after Atalanta refused two transfer offers from Inter Milan.
Inter Milan, last season’s Champions League finalists, have shown strong interest in signing the Nigerian forward. Their latest bid, worth €45 million including bonuses, was rejected by Atalanta.
Lookman is eager to join Inter and play under Cristian Chivu, but Atalanta is reportedly not willing to sell unless they receive at least €50 million for the winger, who was recently named African Player of the Year.
Over the weekend, Lookman submitted a formal transfer request and criticised the club’s leadership for blocking his move. His absence from training on Monday followed his outburst on Sunday.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the player’s decision not to attend training, stating that Lookman is determined to leave. Atalanta, however, rejected Inter’s previous offer of €42 million plus €3 million in add-ons and are still waiting for an improved bid.
