The Adamawa State Government has celebrated Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu for helping the Nigerian women’s football team win their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) trophy.
Coach Madugu, who is from Numan Local Government Area in Adamawa, received a brand-new three-bedroom bungalow and a cash gift of N50 million. These rewards were presented by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri during a special ceremony held at the Government House in Yola on Friday, August 1.
Governor Fintiri praised the coach for his strong leadership and football knowledge. He said Madugu’s success was not just for Nigeria, but also a great moment of pride for Adamawa State.
He said, “We are proud that someone from our state led the Super Falcons to victory in Africa. His hard work and smart coaching brought honour to both Nigeria and Adamawa.”
Coach Madugu thanked the state government and the people of Adamawa for their love and support. He said the recognition meant a lot to him and he felt truly grateful.
He also shared that when he accepted the role, he took it as a personal challenge. He wanted to show that people from the North can also lead and succeed at top levels. According to him, it was his mission to make his state proud and leave a lasting legacy.
