Popular reality TV personality, Leo Da Silva, has spoken out about a serious issue affecting shoppers in Nigeria’s capital city. He expressed concern over the increasing number of fake and unsafe products being sold in supermarkets across Abuja.
According to Leo, the problem is now widespread and poses a major risk to public health. He said people are unknowingly buying these fake goods, which could be dangerous if consumed or used.
Because of this, Leo is calling on the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to take urgent steps. He suggested that the agency should carry out surprise inspections or raids in all the big supermarkets in Abuja. This, he believes, will help stop the spread of fake drugs and other harmful products.
His message is a wake-up call for both government agencies and the public. It highlights the need for stronger checks and regulations to ensure the safety of products sold in stores.
“The amount of fake drugs, fake deodorants, fake toothpaste and fake skin care in Nigeria is ridiculous. In one month, I have bought fake codliver oil, fake Gestid, fake sensodyne, fake Simple face wash, fake deodorant, etc. NAFDAC need to raid all big supermarkets in Abuja,” he wrote.
