Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has shared an inspiring message for young girls in Nigeria following the team’s big win at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ajibade, who was named the best player of the tournament, told young girls to stay passionate and work hard for their goals. She reminded them that with belief and effort, anything is possible.
The 25-year-old striker posted this message on her X account on Monday. She also thanked the fans and her teammates for their love and support during the tournament, especially after their final win against Morocco.
She celebrated the team’s achievement by writing, “We did it! Mission X accomplished!” Ajibade said that winning this 10th WAFCON title means a lot and shows the team’s strong spirit and determination.
She thanked fans both in Nigeria and abroad, calling them the team’s “12th player.” She said their support helped the team stay strong until the end.
Ajibade also praised her teammates and called them her sisters. She said she was proud of how everyone gave their best and worked together, no matter the challenges.
She ended her message with special words for young Nigerian girls. She said: “To the young girls with dreams in their eyes—this is for you. Keep your passion alive. Work hard. Your time will come. Believe in yourself. Anything is possible.”
Ajibade also thanked God and celebrated the Super Falcons as “forever champions.”
