2025 could be my last year in boxing – Anthony Joshua

British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua has suggested that 2025 might be the year he steps away from the boxing ring for good.

Joshua hasn’t fought since September 2024, when he was defeated by Daniel Dubois in the fifth round. That fight ended in a knockout, and it was a tough moment in his career.

The 35-year-old boxer began his professional journey in 2013. He is expected to return to the ring again before the end of this year.

Speaking in an interview on the Ariel Helwani Show, Joshua gave a strong hint that this might be his final year in boxing. He said that his “last punch” could happen before 2025 ends.

Joshua also took a moment to thank his long-time promoters, MatchRoom Boxing, for being with him throughout his career.

In his words: “Long may you reign supreme and keep giving fighters opportunities to become champions and make boxing great again.”

He added that it’s been 12 years since he signed with MatchRoom, and he plans to finish his career with them, saying he would throw his last punch under their banner.
