Police spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, speaks on why police has stopped showing faces of suspected criminals

The Nigerian Police Force has explained why they no longer reveal the faces of people suspected of committing crimes when presenting them to the public.

Police spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, made this known while replying to a user on social media platform X. The user had asked why the police didn’t show the faces of the officers accused of beating up a man in Delta State. A photo of the arrested officers was shared online, but only their backs were visible.

In his response, Adejobi said the police now respect people’s human rights, which is why they stopped showing the faces of suspected criminals during parades. He added that this practice has been stopped for some time now.
