The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has bombed locations used by ISWAP terrorists in Marte, Borno State. Many fighters were killed, and their weapons store was destroyed during the operation.
The airstrikes happened on Sunday in the Arinna Waje area. They were carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, targeting places where the terrorists were hiding.
This information was shared on Sunday by a security expert, Zagazola Makama, on his X (formerly Twitter) page.
According to him, the military acted based on strong intelligence and steady surveillance. They found out that a large number of ISWAP fighters had gathered in the area. This happened five days after they fought with a Boko Haram group.
Military sources said NAF jets were quickly sent to bomb the identified spots. The airstrikes were carefully planned and well-executed.
The bombings completely destroyed several ISWAP camps and supply points. One of the strikes hit a major ammunition store, which caused a large explosion.
It was also confirmed that some top ISWAP leaders were among those killed in the air attack.
The Nigerian Air Force, working with ground troops and intelligence services, promised to keep up these attacks. Their goal is to weaken terrorist groups in the Lake Chad region and Sambisa Forest.
