John Ayuba, who was the Deputy Governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State during the 2023 elections, has officially left the party. He has now joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Ayuba shared the news on Monday through a resignation letter he sent to the PDP chairman of Unguwan Gaiya Ward in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
He explained that one of his reasons for leaving was that the PDP no longer has a clear vision at the national level. According to him, some of the party’s top leaders have mismanaged the party and are involved in activities that work against the interest of the PDP.
Ayuba, who also served as the Commissioner of Finance in Kaduna State, said the PDP leadership failed to take action against those who worked against the party in the last election. He said this lack of discipline had discouraged many loyal members.
Before moving to the ADC, Ayuba said he held discussions with his political supporters and close associates. After these talks, he decided that remaining in the PDP was no longer an option.
Despite his decision to leave, Ayuba thanked the PDP for giving him the chance to contest as the Deputy Governorship candidate in 2023. However, he believes it’s now time for him to move on with a new political direction.
