As Nigeria prepares for the 2027 general elections, the governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has said that more well-known politicians will soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC). He revealed that even a current governor is expected to switch to the ruling party.
During an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, July 27, Governor Sule said the APC is already working on strategies to face the opposition’s new alliance and improve its chances in the next election.
He added that the party is not waiting for the opposition to take the lead. Instead, it is making smart moves to bring in strong political figures and secure more support across the country.
“Yes, we have discussed and it is not something, actually, that I will disclose here. You know, as they are planning, we are planning. We are in politics. We’re not just sitting down watching them plan. So as they plan, we plan. And at the end of the day, the better plans will take over.
We keep getting more and more governors from the PDP joining us. Very soon, you will hear another governor joining us. You hear every day about senators decamping and coming back to the APC. Every day. These are all part of the plans—they’re not happening just by magic,” the governor added.
